Welcome To NLP Training And Coaching Based On Neuro-Linguistic Programming

line

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to your neurology; Linguistic refers to language; programming refers to how that neural language functions. In other words, learning NLP is like learning the language of your own mind!

Have you ever tried to communicate with someone who didn’t speak your language, and they couldn’t understand you?  The classic example of this is when someone goes out to a restaurant in a Foreign country and they think they ordered steak, but when the food shows up, it turns out they actually asked for liver stew.

This is the kind of relationship that most of us have with our own unconscious mind. We might think we are “ordering up” more money, a happy, healthy relationship, peace with our family members, and being able to stick to a healthy diet…but unless that’s what showing up, then something is probably getting lost in translation.

In NLP, we have a saying: the conscious mind is the goal setter, and the unconscious mind is the goal getter. Your unconscious mind is not out to get you–rather, it’s out TO GET FOR YOU whatever you want in life. However, if you don’t know how to communicate what you want properly, it will keep bringing steaming bowls of liver stew out of the kitchen.
In fact, go ahead right now and think of, if there was one thing you could change, one habit you could break, what would it be?

  1. Would you remain calm during work presentations?
  2. Quit procrastinating and spending so much time on Facebook?
  3. Not devour a whole bag of potato chips or tub of ice cream in one sitting?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is like a user’s manual for the brain, and taking an NLP training is like learning how to become fluent in the language of your mind so that the ever-so-helpful “server” that is your unconscious will finally understand what you actually want out of life.

NLP is the study of excellent communication–both with yourself, and with others. It was developed by modelling excellent communicators and therapists who got results with their clients. NLP is a set of tools and techniques, but it is so much more than that. It is an attitude and a methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.

The main reasons a person may take an NLP training are to:

  1. Be a powerful and inspiring communicator
  2. Be skilled at reading non-verbal cues
  3. Increase your subconscious and sensory awareness
  4. Master and be in control of your thinking and emotions
  5. Alleviate fears and phobias
  6. Motivate and empower
  7. Develop depth in personal and business relationships
  8. Attain success and achievement
  9. Rectify unwanted behaviours in yourself and others
  10. Effectively communicate and get information from others

Levels of NLP Training

There are many organizations that oversee, organize, and often accredit training centres. All NLP organizations agree to the following levels of NLP training, which can be found at many NLP training centres. However, this does not mean that one can move from training centre to training centre, hoping to acquire the next level of training. Often training centres have their courses build on the previous course content. Therefore, it is best to either commit to taking all your training at one centre or checking with the training centres prior to starting your NLP journey.

  1. NLP Practitioner
  2. NLP Master Practitioner
  3. NLP Trainer
NLP Practitioner

NLP Practitioner is the first level of NLP training. There is generally no requirement of NLP experience, and anyone can enrol. An NLP Practitioner training encompasses learning the basic elements of NLP, as well as the techniques of combining these elements to apply them with skill and elegance. This training provides a series of skills and strategies for success, as well as creating value in life. Thus, it includes addressing challenges in relationships, business, family, as well as education. Learning to solve such issues leads to greater personal growth. A quality NLP practitioner course usually involves projects of real-life application of the NLP Skills. These skills help others to overcome fears and phobias, in addition to learning greater confidence.

NLP Master

An NLP Master training builds on the Practitioner level material in more depth or adds more complex techniques and models. Some of the key areas addressed include modelling and language. In this level, people develop skills to change beliefs and values in themselves and in others that better fit their lifestyle, family, and work systems. Master training usually covers developments in communication techniques. These may include quantum linguistics, discovery and retraining of the unconscious behavioural competence, and why people think differently and how they do it, which is our individual values. Training may also cover filters to our personality – Meta Programs, which are advanced strategies, advanced NLP sub-modalities, mediation skills, and also advanced linguistic negotiation. Each training centre has their own set of courses they specialize in. Taking the NLP master course is vital for completely transforming your business, health, as well as relationships. Taking this training enables you to expand and profit in substantial ways.

NLP Trainer

NLP Trainers train NLP Practitioners as well as NLP Master Practitioners. This program enables discovery of your unique identity as a trainer and as a presenter, which is what makes a difference. A person learns how to be confident, which allows them to have fun and be at ease in front of people. This training prepares you to become a charismatic and transformational presenter. It delivers skills and techniques to successfully influence groups, to understand, analyse and coordinate group processes, and also the mastery of skills to be a charismatic presenter. Upon completion, a person is able to present in front of groups of any size with perfect confidence.

Types of NLP Training

Training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming was originally conducted in live, group settings. It was thought that NLP needed to be taught in person to really be understood. However, over the years and with the development of the internet, online training has become more popular and accepted as an effective training style. Additionally, some centres offer a blend of online and private training. There are many benefits to online training as the ability to learn the material and practice it in your daily life before moving on to new material and techniques.

However, as with any neuro-linguistic programming or NLP training, it must fit your personal style and needs. The things to consider when evaluating what training is right for you is:

  1. The quality of the material taught
  2. Their philosophy and focus
  3. Financial affordability
  4. Time required to complete the training(s)
  5. Credibility of the training center and staff
  6. Accreditation and endorsements
  7. Support during and after your training

Make sure to ask as many questions as needed to find out if the NLP training centre meets your criteria.

Ericksonian Hypnosis

Hypnotherapy is simply the use of trance for therapeutic purposes. Traditional hypnotherapy uses commanding language, as in the above example, called direct suggestion. This method sometimes works, but not for everybody. Some people resist these suggestions.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy on the other hand uses more of what it is called indirect suggestions. Indirect suggestions are much harder to resist because they are often not even recognised as suggestions by the conscious mind, since they usually disguise themselves as stories or metaphors. An example of an indirect suggestion is ” and perhaps your eyes will grow tried as you listen to this story, and you will want to close them, because people can, you know, experience a pleasant, deepening sense of comfort as they allow their eyes to close, and they relax deeply.”

Think about the following scenario: A child of five years of age is carefully carrying a full glass of milk to the dinner table. The parent of the child warns in a stern voice, “don’t drop that!” The child looks up at the parent, stumbles, drops the glass, and spills milk everywhere. The now angry parent shouts, “I told you not to drop that! You’re so clumsy. You’ll never learn!”

As unintentional as it may be, this is an example of hypnosis. The powerful authoritative voice (the parent), having created through indirect suggestion (“don’t drop that!), an altered state (trance), has issued a direct post-hypnotic suggestion (“You’re so clumsy. You’ll never learn”). “Post-hypnotic” because, if the child accepts the suggestion (and children often do), he or she will always see themselves as clumsy. This post-hypnotic suggestion by the parent may well adhere to the directive in the future, sabotaging the child’s success.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE PRACTITIONER

Emotions sometimes sweep over us like a wave, they can flood us and take over us in that moment or we can get to a point where we shut emotions out and refuse to rise to them. Both of these are damaging to us as human beings, we require balance within us to live a life that we can enjoy and thrive in and improving our Emotional Intelligence levels offers us that balance.

Daniel Goleman, who wrote one of the most popular books on the subject of Emotional Intelligence, believes that recognising and increasing our understanding and levels of Emotional Intelligence may be more important to our lives than that of our general intelligence. Learning how to heighten our awareness and improve our understanding of emotions, when they are appropriate and how to change them when they are not leads to a more fulfilled life. A life where we feel every emotion yet do not live in any one emotion, where we know how to be more effective with our emotional states and how to develop each area of our lives to ensure we are never “over-run” by emotions.

“As much as 80% of adult ‘success’ comes from Emotional Intelligence” – Daniel Goleman

Throughout this Emotional Intelligence course, you will be guided through the five-stage emotional intelligence framework along with activities, exercises and worksheets that will help you to understand where you are now and how to improve. All of this is also easily transferable to help you work with YOURSELF with the aim of improving YOUR LIFE.

Take a fully comprehensive journey into the world of Emotional Intelligence and you will find a framework that is extremely adept at helping to not only improve your life and the lives of those around you. You will also find that  improving levels of Emotional Intelligence helps with conditions such as:

  1. Anxiety
  2. Depression
  3. Overwhelm
  4. Fear
  5. Stress
  6. Anger
  7. Frustration and much, much more!
